Simultaneously, the Island <em>Fringe</em> gives other Canadian and International theatre companies a chance to bring their shows to PEI and make connections with Island artists.<br/><span></span><span><br/></span><span>As a site-specific festival, we create venues out of pre-existing, non-theatrical spaces.</span> Inspired by the unconventional shows that <em>Fringe Festivals</em> are famous for, we at the Island Fringe seek out equally unconventional venues. Shows are staged in indoor and outdoor spaces throughout downtown Charlottetown. 2012 IFF show venues included a coffee shop, the wharf, and one of the town squares. <span>A main goal of the Festival is to get the community involved.
